This morning in Pingyao, China, we were treated to a calligraphy lesson by a local man in his home. His letters were much better than ours but we tried at least. We were also shown how to write our names and countries in Chinese.

Incredible chalk art at 2014 Festa in Little Italy.

Wonderfully done. Chalk has never been my favorite medium, but it does have the impermanence of Tibetan sand paintings and the pliability to be used in large or small scales with relatively little increase in difficulty.
