I had an idea for a restaurant where you walk in and take a number. This number is not the order in which you are served, but a seat at a specific table. Your number would be random, and possibly across the room from the rest of the group you arrived with. There would also be a “phone check” service at the door. This would create a situation where people would be invited to sit with strangers. Engage your fellow human in conversation. If you think this idea is weird, go to a different restaurant. No one will judge you…they’ll be too busy making new friends.
