When you’re walking, do you think about each step? Do you count them? Do you consider the direction of each foot, or just your desired destination? How many steps is it from your couch to your fridge? How many from your bed to your bathroom?

Without thinking, or looking, how many steps do you have in your house from one floor to the next?

I only ask because everything you ever do, day in and day out, when you’re happy, sad, or barely able to function, involves these steps. Next time you’re on your way to the kitchen, or garage, or wherever, pause, for just 15 seconds and imagine how many steps you’ve already taken today.

It will quiet your mind.
