Italian sculptor Alessandro Boezio challenges perception with his anatomical distortions.

This is the kind of art that can cause people to pause long enough to realize there is more than one way to look at the world without delving into madness. These sculptures evoke an other worldly-ness that doesn’t necessarily include the grotesque or disturbing. I am most intrigued by this work:

Art is its own purpose, to be sure, however I like to imagine that Mr. Boezio is trying to show that what we blindly accept and often ignore could very well be extremely different when only altered slightly.
